The Harris team has apparently calculated that the biggest group of still winnable voters—winnable without, as @hkpmw.bsky.social notes, changing policies—is GOP leaners who don’t like Trump, but worry Harris is too left-wing. The campaigning isn’t for political junkies. You know how you’re voting.

I think this is not a bad bet given how politically active say, Haley voters from the GOP primary are rather than dissafecrdd low information quasi leftists who hate ‘the system’ (who are probably most vaguely left of center non voters).

Clarifying distinction between the tactics used by Harris and Allred here, with Harris seeking formerly-GOP votes by going on the attack, and Allred making himself look weak by staying on the defensive.

After the last few Presidential election cycles, does anyone think the Corporate Dems can calculate anything anymore?

If they're not changing policies, which I'm satisfied with immigration at least that they're not, then aren't they being dishonest with the voters they're targeting? Not that I care about them either, but I do worry about the trust issue. Harris talking about her stupid Glock seems harmless...

They must have also calculated that the gains in that winnable group are more than the losses in the group that hates aligning with Republicans. In other words, the calculation is that embracing Cheney, Kinzinger, and Duncan will not cause the loss of three Arab-Americans.

What about the -18 million young voters who've entered the electorate since 2020, and who every survey tells us hold views well to the left of Harris? Where's the effort to establish brand loyalty with them and turn them out, instead of driving them away by chasing people who think you're a Marxist?

+1 for you is 1/2 as good as +1 for you and -1 for Trump.

I'm curious what you were quoting, it seems like the account has been deactivated since. Absolutely right, though!

Might also appeal to independents?
