After this happened a couple of times at last minute in one month with DB from Brussels to Germany, was told by a crew staff that the stretch between foreign city X and the German border was the “easiest” to cancel to help stock load inside Germany. Since then I use the local company and change.

Agree. And one has to think of the impact of that inside Georgia. Given the size of the population and thus the size of the civil society, one has to wonder to what extent such a country can "afford" to see any large number of civically engaged people leave.

It took more than two years, but Russian authorities are finally clamping down on existing loopholes that allowed Russian men to move abroad rather easily. The borders are slowly but surely closing shut. I don’t expect a big exodus, those who had the means and will to leave already left
