October 10th. Another unpublished illustration I made for The Woman in Black. The Sound of a Pony & Trap.

A black pen and printmaking ink illustration on white paper of a horse & cart making its way along a causeway towards a large dark house on a small island. The causeway snakes its way across an estuary, deep tracks are left in the mud and weeds strewn across it. A weak winter sun is about to dip below the horizon, the dying light reflected on the marshy water. Mist descending on the house. Gloomy.
