I'm a lecturer in philosophy at Uppsala University. They mainly pay me to do aesthetics. I also work on imagination. I'm here for work things and light procrastination.

Right, so along with refusing to publish in or referee for Springer and Elsevier journals due to grotesque profiteering, I now need to avoid publishing anything with T & F/Routledge or Wiley-Blackwell, because they'll flog it to train LLMs. And OUP and CUP are flirting with that, too. Grand.

Working with Taylor & Francis is simply unethical by this point. It’s unfortunately difficult to have AI use revoked from existing contracts but at least try, complain, if you have a book with them. And otherwise do not even consider.

CWA Gold Dagger winner #12: Lionel Davidson, “A Long Way Till Shiloh” (1966). Think I had more fun writing the review than reading the book. 💙📚 www.nickwiltsher.com/cwa-reviews/2024/9/30/lionel-davidson-a-long-way-till-shiloh-1966

You could imagine that Heath might have said something pretty similar, but perhaps it went without saying with him, and perhaps you meant *Labour* party leaders.

Ages ago, I had a one-semester job teaching philosophy to a group of sixth-form RE students in Doncaster. Or trying to. Not sure I did well. It was bloody hard work. School teachers of this stuff are great!

Perfectly happy to be followed by several teachers of RE in the UK, but somewhat baffled as to what they're hoping to get out of it, and afraid to say they'll probably be disappointed. I think maybe I still don't quite understand social media of this form.

it's Thérèse-Anne Druart describing Al-Ghazâlî's approach and attitude to the falsafa movement (mainly al-Fârâbî and Avicenna).

All of em. Individually and collectively. (I have already forgotten exactly what the source is, and the notes that would tell me are in my office)

"He devotes considerable space to dealing with philosophers, whom he considers particularly dangerous."

The way things are going round here, I'm going to have to remember all that Portuguese I forgot.
