I keep seeing things about untagged NSFW (and am on a list that accuses me of it) and very, very real talk: Do you count completely non sexual nudity as NSFW? And if so, I'd like a tag for non sexual nudity. It's *not* suggestive. It's *not* adult. Those tags don't *fit*.
I don't really tag on here just reblog stuff, but on my tumblr ill tag non sexual nudity as NSFW, not because I think nudity is explicit or sexual but for the literal meaning of NSFW- not safe for work. If my boss saw me browsing that, would I get in trouble? If yes, I tag it to be safe
my issue with all of this tagging business is that femme bodies and masc bodies are treated differently and it's so unfair that it's upsetting. a woman showing some thighs, cleavage or belly button is often tagged as adult content by bluesky moderation, ...
If you can't show it to your boss at work, it is NSFW as says in the name "Not Safe For Work".. NSFW isn't always sexuality :o 18+ definitely maybe ??? And, there is a tag for non-sexual nudity in the settings !! In case that's helpful for anyone here !
Yes, I do. Not as a moral judgment at all, but practically speaking if I’m at work and someone sees nudity on my phone screen I’m getting pulled into HR
So if course I don't want my artwork tagged that way. But if folks are seeing a nip slip and crying NSFW until better tags collect it, the tagging system needs to be more robust. Or we need to agree that a single breast can be on the TL. I'm not saying either option is better or worse--
We live in a society where nude = sexual and it drives me fucking insane. Prude ass US American culture infesting everywhere with this nonsense. At the mere hint of skin, some people get slammed with wrongful tags.
I don’t and I’d be happy to see that tag as well
Yeah, they don't make it easy to tag anything appropriately. I assumed at first that the scale was like a stoplight with "Nudity" in the middle and "Suggestive" at the bottom, but I've tagged things as nude and had them auto-tagged suggestive instead and it's aggravating.
the assumption i roll with is that it probably needs a nsfw tag if it could conceivably get someone else in trouble if it was seen on their screen at work or at home by someone with stupid hangups (this is not me agreeing with people who are such fucking freaks they can't handle artistic nudity 🙃)
