For a lot of folks, the question of Twitter is “does the good still outweigh the bad”. And one thing on the “bad” scale is “I’m supporting a garbage person like Elon”. So it might just take a small thing to push someone over the line. Like “huh, even more sexual harassment than I knew about.”
