For a research institute with ~50% international staff and students, do you think it's acceptable for most emails about funding and other opportunities to be sent only in the language of the institute's country, without a translation to English? Curious to hear people's thoughts.

My take: As a native English speaker it does feel a bit presumptuous of me to demand these emails in English. But also, it doesn't make me feel welcome to apply for these opportunities or welcome in general. Plus it makes checking my emails a lot longer because it involves Google Translate...
