honestly i would hesitate to ascribe it to everybody!! i'm not depressed right now (i'm stressed out, and overworked, and always concerned that i'll sink back into it, but not depressed currently), and telling myself that it was normal, that everybody is feeling the same, that i'm just worse (1/2)

Shit I've been depressed in some form for the last 40 of my 52yrs on this planet. It waxes/wanes. Ive lost count how many different therapists or counselors I've had, or how many diff meds I've been on. Only a few times have I thought I felt better. I was always told to make a choice to be happy...

I think part of it is that I'm no longer willing to sound chipper and put on "Midwestern niceties and chit chat" anymore. Like, if I look/sound defeated it's because I am.
