Students should expect to face disagreement and even social censure for speech, especially from peers—that is a natural and appropriate consequence of saying objectionable things. But it is not the same as violence and material harm. This is the diff b/w safety and discomfort.

There is also a distinction to be made between speech (protest) that occurs on campus and the dissemination of that speech beyond campus *by faculty* to a wider unintended audience. That very obviously compromises student safety. It is doxxing and it is violent.
