I only got around to reading it a few years ago. I think because it was the prototype desert world spawning underdog chosen one it isn't necessarily the best. Others have done it better. And I'm not a fan of the hippy druggy parallels either.

A Princess before it had any actual styling done to it. I'm all for 'break the mould' design, but that Tesla thing looks shite. It's supposed to be utilitarian but it's immediately compromised by the geeky semi-wedge 'styling'.

Christmas is coming & there was a mouse in our house gaining access via a ventilation duct. We called him John McLean. Managed to catch & evict him earlier this week but now realise that we still have Argyle scampering around in the loft.

There are scampering noises in our ceilings & walls. We have a mouse, probably getting in via a ventilation panel somewhere. We're in the run-up to Christmas so obviously we've nick-named him John McLean.

"I am Doctor Who" Ouch. Never realised he said that. I wonder if it was down to new scriptwriters or production/directorial decisions to dumb-down the whole alien wanderer angle into more of a modern version of HG Wells' Time Machine but with added Daleks.

It went very badly for them when Argentina had close to parity of force. Their air force is now some old Skyhawks, trainers & helicopters. The RAF have Typhoons (the fancy ones, not the 1940s jobbies, although even then...)
