Scary, isn’t it?!

Such a strange feeling. At first I thought narrator was quoting another writer, she is a storyteller, then it dawned on me these were Coetzee’s words and I hadn’t remembered the source of the quote when I first came across it years ago. But I remembered the words like yesterday.
