That's fair - but, counterpoint: Here's Vulcan, Tellarite, Andorian, and Denobulan ships, the four species that founded the Federation with the Humans. I definitely feel like these are visually distinct design languages, each of which suggests something about that species' sensibilities.

A vulcan ship, a sleek aerodynamic hull with a shark fin connecting to a warp ring.
A tellarite ship from three perspectives, a squashed egg of a hull with warp nacelles inside green sections on either side with a seperate convention/impulse engine section connected to the back by long horizontal pylons.
An andorian ship, a raptor-like design with a central fuselage, over-under warp engines on the back of the main column, and wings holding weapons mountings.
A denobulan ship, a squat teardrop design without obvious weapons or engines.

And the Romulans, by the TNG era, have ships that invert everything about the Federation's design. Instead of the two squashed spheres connected by a thin hull, with engines out on spars, they've got a bulky central "head" and then an almost hollow sphere, the nacelles being the central joining.

A D'Deridex Class Romulan Warbird.
