Many of the people who demand that we have no cops or prosecutors haven’t thought through what that means. The criminal legal system is ridiculously biased toward the State, but even though I’m a career criminal defense lawyer, I acknowledge that we need competent, honest, and fair prosecutors.

Also, running the criminal legal system isn’t cheap. Usually, government stinginess hurts funding for the defense, but competent prosecutors aren’t cheap, either.
