Birthdays in the office are one of the most awkward things for me. So much so that I take mine off now to avoid shit like this. She sounds like the office snitch and busybody. “Oh, well I’m sure (manager) won’t mind since I was in the middle of $TASK that’s pressing. Thanks though.”
