isn't the whole thing about babies is that they can't hunt and we have to do the hunt for them?

Then BOOX is your option probably, they have large sizes.

Last thing, The Verge did a video on where the technology is now and just how much it advanced, great primer. www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKLB...

E Ink was the next big thing. Is it finally ready?

The current good colour e-readers are this kobo, there's also BOOX (runs on android so you can clutter yourself with apps if you're not careful), ReMarkable if you're made out of money and a few others.

It feels right to me, but for this rulebook I did have to look at a video of the game to get a good idea where everything is on the boards. You can pinch zoom, it's not as snappy as a tablet but snappy enough. I suspect I would have had the same issue with a pdf on a tablet.

Bonus: not being tied to the kindle ecosystem is now a must for me.

I like mine a lot. Page turn buttons are great, PDFs are very snappy (for an e-reader). The colour does have that desaturated quality and it does need more backlight than a regular e-reader. The size is great and also you can upload PDFs to Google Drive from your phone and access them on the reader.

ReMarkable is quite large, isn't it? Might be a bit unwieldy, unless that's not something you mind.

I mean, only a decade ago the general consensus was that a colour ereader was impossible, so this is, indeed, magic.
