CPUSA has a system where the current leadership picks the slate of candidates for leadership at their conventions, so incoming leadership are always going to be ideologically aligned with current leadership (context: their leadership are enthusiastic biden/kamala supporters)

they also have a ban on factions, which functionally prevents members from organizing any kind of significant change to the org, because talking about anything like that outside of convention gets counted as "factionalism"
