I’m at $110/$820 for groceries and heating my home/water. I’m just about out of food and about to run out of warm water and heating my home at night when it’s cold. Please help if you’re able! Anything is appreciated 💜

The Just World Fallacy is a helluva drug.

I'm 🇵🇭🇺🇸 AND an imm lawyer. Believe me, I have tried, but they're convinced it won't happen to them. When they see it happen to other ppl they love, they are utterly agog, in true "face-eating leopards" fashion. Indeed, I've seen others try to have this convo with *formerly undocumented people.*
To say nothing of: (1) Their stated goal to abolish birthright citizenship, and (2) The fact that millions of American citizens in mixed status families will inevitably "self-deport"
Amazing report (not that I'd expect anything else from AIC)! I kind of touched on this in a rant I made last week: the only parties who come out ahead in a mass deportation scenario are xenophobic politicians, stakeholders in for-profit prisons, and human traffickers.
Families living in terror, with no improvements to the economy or public safety, without the massive surge of deportations to go with them. So who exactly benefits from this state of affairs in this scenario? Well, for-profit prisons, mostly.
The private prison industry is benefiting from Trump administration policies to expand detention and increase profits.
