Also, if the oil companies are so confident in it, they can pay for the entirety themselves with their massive, huge profits, and then sell excess carbon credits if they *have* to make money out of it.

yeah but CCS tech is, like cold fusion, just a few more years away. We don't have anything even close to the scale necessary for it to be useful and based on the statement starmer made about it, he's all in on that, and not other things.
