There was a magnitude 4.39 earthquake at 8:06pm PDT on August 13th. The epicenter was just off Hwy 95 about half way between Las Vegas and Beatty. A mag 3.1 EQ followed ~6 minutes later, ~3 km / ~1.5 miles south of the M4.39 earthquake. Light shaking in Pahrump and Las Vegas.

On Saturday afternoon there was a magnitude 4.1 earthquake on a normal fault that runs along the east flank of the Toiyabe Range near Austin Nevada. This fault has been the source of multiple large surface rupture events in the last 10’s of thousands of years.

Happy #FieldWorkFriday! This week, our crew installed a new fire camera at Summit Lake. This power system and telemetry equipment will also be able to support environmental sensors that will be installed in the future.

Solar panel, tower, and equipment boxes of a remote fire camera.
