Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell haven’t said a word to each other since December 2020. But people close to both men are working behind the scenes to pave the way for a critical endorsement by the one Republican congressional leader who has yet to offer one.
The conversations between the Trump and McConnell camps have been happening between key advisers to both men.

What is this, the umpeenth time McConnell has an opportunity to repudiate Trump once and for all, which of course he'll pass up (again) lest he risk his chances of regaining the Majority Leader mantle. In this era of toxic politics he sets the standard for craven pursuit (and application) of power.
Imagine you have to work overtime to get Mitch McConnell to do the absolute worst thing possible.
It doesn't look like it's "critical". Marmalade Mussolini seems to be doing just fine without it. Plus, many GOP people don't much like McConnel. Trump will likely be elected again with or without that endorsement. Bleah. 👎

How hilarious would it be if Mitch McConnell, nearing death and fearing the wrath of eternity suddenly decides he wants to make a moral stance against the biggest piece of shit to enter US politics in a century whom he has done so much to enable? He obviously doesn't like Trump.
