The next movie in the “Lord of the Rings” franchise will focus on Gollum, Warner Bros. Pictures announced. Andy Serkis, who played the miniature creature in the original film trilogy, will direct and star in the movie, which is scheduled for 2026, the studio said.

Miniature?
Have we learnt nothing from the gollum game
I love Andy Serkis but this is a horrible idea. Gollum is a serial killer. He killed his best friend, ran away into a cave, killed countless people inside the cave, then tried to kill Frodo and Sam, then bites off Frodos finger to keep the ring, then dies. Where’s the story?
Did Disney buy the rights to LOTR or something?
It'll be about Detective James Gollum's early days on the hobbiton police force. Back when the only "ring" that concerned him was the crime ring funneling pipe-weed into the shire. Taken right out of the silmarillian
Is he really that miniature? I mean hes emaciated but otherwise a normal sized hobbit, maybe even a little lankier
Peter Jackson should have quit the franchise while he was ahead
Et tu, Cesar?
