I’m in Vermont and after a big not-winter storm I’m glad if it is around 80. And we are used to the 60s. But you are just going to be wet, unavoidable. And it may still be windy. You do NOT want to get cold.

Hi. I have no idea if I took my meds this afternoon or not. Sigh. I didn’t fill my pill boxes this weekend. And the dog was barking a lot. Already having a rough day so I’ll probably never know. I’m safe if I miss, just more POTS symptoms. I need to drive so can’t risk doubling up.

Well, it’s a federal disaster area, so more than a memory. But this week they are reburying the water and sewer lines that got ripped out when we lost a bridge. They had been running along side the temporary bridge. I really feel for the folks who got hit by Helene.

I was “lucky” when I lost water for six days my basement was also taking on ground water that I had to pump out so I was able to divert that to fill flush buckets.

Yeah, multiple levels of water planning. The first is I have three days of bottled water for drinking and hand washing if I don’t have enough notice to fill my containers. I’m on town water and it can go out for repairs too.

That. But add on that it is terrifying when you realize that all the mutual aid, church, NGO, and government effort in good faith still can leave you vulnerable in a disaster. It is scary, and many people don’t react well to that. And lack of info. Folks are more primed for conspiracy than normal.

There is an eco-fascist narrative afoot right now. It starts with how "they" (Biden, the .gov, Jewish people, etc) control the weather, and it ends with the South being left for dead (the myth of white genocide). Do not play into this fascist myth-making that will be used to justify real atrocities.
