am i the only one who deadass cant stand straight media, the moment i hear about a show, game or a song and learn the focal point or theme is straight romance i just cant consume said media like deadass i will hear the most banger song ever and then i see the lyrics and drop cuz its straight romance

god SAME!! like im sorry I genuinely can’t stand it, it’s EVERY STORY’S m/f dynamic, and its so common that it makes platonic m/f relationships rare to see. Its so forced to the point that now EVERY het ship feels repulsive

I think it’s strange to limit yourself; I just think the mlw media market is oversaturated with mediocrity, but there are gems; The New Sound by Geordie Greep is a fantastic album - in the year of our lord 2024 no less - and DanDaDan is must-read Shonen because the central romance is THAT strong.
