Cyclists are often accused of being “entitled” for wanting some of the road space to be a bike lane by drivers who want the entire road to be car lanes.

This is so interesting to me! It feels like in the minds of the car-brained, cyclists are simultaneously seen as low class AND entitled yuppies with too much free money/time. We're just normal people damnit!!

Drivers are the real victims here. It’s not fair how expensive and time consuming it is be a “car person”. They devote so much time and money to their hobby. Unfairly subjected to traffics and high gas prices due to bike lanes As the billboards say… Injured? You are entitled to compensation!

Car lanes in cities have lower throughput, so objectively, demanding equal space and priority for the less productive and more destructive mode is extraordinary entitlement. Cyclists are very charitable to call for allowing cars to remain.

Some people see the status quo as paramount and any change to it is a challenge to what they are entitled to.
