Yes, I’d agree with all of that, some of what she says drfinitely doesn’t apply over here. I’m not sure what she meant about no books being published for 13-15 year-olds. I would have thought that’s the age range that’s best catered for.

I can't think of any MG for that age group at the moment, most of them max out at 13. What are you thinking about? I can think of older ones eg Skullduggery pleasant, Lockwood, but not recent.

I think it's catered to with manga but not next-only books - cos YA is skewed much older and MG mostly capped at 12.

As someone with a nearly 14yo who is an avid reader, but really doesn't want to read romance etc, I'd say this article is spot on - there is a HUGE gap in the 13-15 space. I spend a lot of time searching for books for her that don't have a 17yo MC. They are few and far between...
