My Bible Belt metro area of 600,000 people has 2 actual synagogues and like 5 of those "Messianic synagogues" (Christian churches whose members do include Jewish converts, but also some *very interesting* white Christians).

conservative christianity has this whole thing going on where anything in the bible about our material obligations to the stranger is some sort of metaphor and everything else, like, the book of genesis, is literal. it’s ecumenical and it drives me up the damn wall.
I cannot stress this enough: if you consider yourself a Christian, you are obligated to respond to comments like this - whether they come from Stephen Wolfe or your dad - by condemning them as heresy and urging the speaker to repent.
