Learning it well enough to be able to get trough a Middle Egyptian text is one thing – quite doable, in fact. But understanding the (alleged) intricacies of all the different sḏm.f's? Veeeeeery different.
Not to mention the monstrosity that is the (no longer so) "Standard Theory", which is... utter madness. Sorry, but it is. Or rather, the fact of being utter madness is in the Standard Theory. See what I did there?
