No food has entered northern Gaza in October. Starvation of civilians is a fundamental violation of international law, and the Biden administration will be forever remembered for having supported it.

Palestinians aren't "caught in the middle" of anything. They are the target. In Gaza, in the West Bank, and in Lebanon. Their expulsion, ethnic cleansing, and killing is not a "consequence"--it's been the aim as we've seen throughout this past year. Call out narratives that routinize our slaughter.

You don't have to "approve" or "condemn" anyone in order to recognise that, realistically, if you're in the society that this image came from, you can't be surprised if the people whose houses you bombed while cheering would probably not treat you well when they got out from behind the prison wall.

John Birmingham’s beautiful lament for the days when newspapers delivered actual news in hard copy – and editors paid expenses on time open.substack.com/pub/aliensid...

Will it matter when the last newspaper dies?
Will it matter when the last newspaper dies?

I'm on the road this week, which is making me a little nostalgic.

“More than 430,000 Australians could have owned their own home today – if not for 7 prime ministers’ inaction” by Peter Martin. theconversation.com/more-than-43... Even with these people, it still seems way short of The Great Australian Dream.

More than 430,000 Australians could have owned their own home today – if not for 7 prime ministers’ inaction
More than 430,000 Australians could have owned their own home today – if not for 7 prime ministers’ inaction

My calculations suggest that if homeownership bounced back to 70% – where it was before a key tax change – an extra 430,000 homes would now be owned by the people living in them.

"You lost to Count Binface" is how Britain First will be remembered from now on.

A tweet from the fascist Britain First Party claiming the fact that it received fewer votes (20,519) than Count Binface (24,260) in the 2024 election for the Mayor of London was not humiliating because it received more votes in the London Assembly as a whole.

No more modern nonsense, return to to tradition

original tweet from @oliharris808 showing a photo of British Soldiers in drag in WW2:

"British Soldiers (interrupted during drag show rehearsals by a German raid) manning a BL 6-inch Mk VII naval gun at Shornernead Fort, England in 1940"

quote tweet from @Erica_fosk:

"we interrupted our drag show to shoot at Nazis is a truly powerful energy I want to bring back"
