How about a paper being "a case study and not technical enough", then redirected to a different journal of the same publisher, where is was deemed "too technical" looking at you AGU

Ho... the stories... they are numerous. Although I stand by my call for having a space for the local and case study papers (and not to penalize researchers who publish in them early in their careers).
