And to think Cattle & Great White Egrets are going the same way, it’s perhaps one of few benefits we see in British birding of a warming climate. Early days, but GWE looking set to breed in Dorset this year to ‘complete the set’ of breeding Egrets for the county.

Have noticed their presence has really increased in the Avon Valley in the past year or so. They’re now a daily sight for me. Must be at least 5 pairs/territories between Fordingbridge & Christchurch. Found a successful nest near home about 2 years ago which, strangely, went unused last year.
