I've still got a big old box of tapes under the bed but I did get rid of a load years ago when I moved out of home. I kept the best ones though!
Exactly this! I've done it myself, and did for quite a while, but prices have just got silly now
Yeah. It's all good a bit silly. I get my new stuff on CD mainly these days (and the occasional tape with DL). I really couldn't buy much if I insisted on vinyl. And anyway, I get into albums more on CD. I can stick them on in the car on the disk itself or on the memory stick.
Yes, absolutely. The bargain bins are where all the fun is to be had.
They're a bit of a novelty format imo. I like the odd tape, but I like them even more with a download code. I feel the same way about new vinyl as well if I'm honest. Second hand vinyl is a different proposition, obviously.

Yeah. Such a good tune. The version on this album is the alternate version without overdubs which is really quite nice.
Very much so. As far as I know, it's only available on the tape and nowhere else. It made the decision about which format to buy quite easy and came with a download of the main album as well.
