It fairness you could do this with any pet. Real dog person is super happy about anyone, including monsters, to appear. Defeated by thrown sticks. Real gold fish dies halfway through fight even though it was not touched and well fed. Real bird person, poops on everything, constantly.
The dog person gets a log thrown at them by an ogre and just starts pulling it back to them.
