My sentiments exactly. As more than one person has pointed out since, I was the only somewhat capable person he had in his corner in life, and he couldn't keep his hands to himself. Heck, I was the only reason he got to pet dogs. (They love me and are scared of him.)

My mother is sad about it but accepted it. I'm not sure my father knows. They're both aware he's a POS, but he lives with them, and Dad's Parkinson's disease appears to be speedrunning, so their power is a bit limited. Technically, he cut ME off. I just yelled NO BACKSIES very loudly.
I didn't do anything in particular to sabotage him, unless you count deciding at one point that he didn't get to physically or verbally abuse me anymore, then refusing to apologize to him for that decision. But I'm the nearest woman, so it's definitely my fault. I am so tired and so glad to be bi.
Yup. My ex-brother is going through that. Middle-aged, has done pretty much nothing in life. Had multiple heart attacks/strokes over a year ago, so mortality is knockin'. And he is so angry at me, specifically, because he doesn't have the life he expected and so it must be a woman's fault.
With four days remaining before voting is closed, a final plea: please vote for the October Daye books for Best Series. The beautiful irony of a series that began because I couldn't figure out how else to make a living off a folklore degree and a thesis about "Tam Lin" would be glorious.
