Your grandmother example, we can understand the will of her & you for message transmission, but for reality to just be like "this is how two-slit experiment works" without providing a reason is certainly more perturbing.
Part of my skepticism about spiritual world views is that reality has consistently proven weirder. My dead grandmother sending messages from the afterlife is comprehensible and comforting compared to the two-slit experiment.
