only good things the A12 Hackney M11 link made were the amazing Reclaim the Streets campaign and the New Deal for Trunk Roads that stated "there will be no presumption in favour of new road building as an answer." Pretty sure Atkins' retaining walls weren't designed with a lid in mind.

DfT hates tackling primary legislation. Opportunity to use guidance on NMD in the TM Act e.g. clarity on mode hierarchy and place. (Might even align with NPPF and NMDC movement priorities!) Also need new MfS to shape local design guides better. Transport Plan guidance update still awaited too

But is 'decide and provide' better? My local draft LTP mentions it as if they know what it is, then continue BAU. I'm not convinced the industry knows what or how to do Vision and Validate or D&P yet
