I don’t fantasize about wealth BUT I would lobby to create a Layman’s Terms Law that prevents any proposed legislation or propositions from being mired in deceptive language or legalese but rather must be presented in a way that is brief and easy to understand.

Not sure if this was offbeat enough.

We have a law like this on the books in AZ. At least two ballot measures have gone before our Supreme Court for next month due to “murky language” - both had to be rewritten in simpler terms.

The ballot measures in my state print the "real world" application or implication of the measure just below the convoluted language of the proposed law itself.
