I’m not sure I ever saw the movie. I remember reading the book, because it led me to conclude “This author is doing a really good job of making me feel ways I don’t want to feel” and pretty much swear off horror until T Kingfisher started writing it.

Which is, I realize, off the original point of changes in climate and technology making some older plots no longer feasible.
