And “white” is a flexible category, a lot of people who are white now would not have been considered white at one point, & would not be considered white if the definitions shifted again! People don’t seem to understand that there is no end stage to bigotry, there’s always an out group.

Oh you are not wrong. There are a number of people who will be surprised to find out they're not white. Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, Clarence Thomas. That's just the starter group.

Agree with your point. I think it’s tough to counter because once you think you have them on a bigotry charge, they shift into “no, anyone of any color who votes for us is good,” and then you have to shuffle to make an anti-authoritarian argument. Difficult to explain even if obvious to me/us.
