I became a pantser after hearing James Elroy say that his plot outline for American Tabloid was 900 pages long ... The novel is 930 pages!
Been a bit of both, not exactly planning the whole thing out, but also not exactly going in no notes. I like a vague idea of what's going to happen and then just flow from point to point..
I'm currently pantsing my way through something (because I lost confidence in my plotting) and it. Is. Awful. The good news is this is for a class so I can't quit; I *must* continue pantsing through it in order prevent failing. But lesson learned: never again. I'm a plotter for life.
