Every now and then something breaks through in this regard, like, say, the first Knives Out movie, but that's still the exception to the rule -- even for the Knives Out franchise!

Did someone put a gun to his head and force him to write this? It reads too aware and honest for a CEO.

I cannot believe that an exec from Sony--the studio most likely to destroy any established franchise or property with its incompetence--is the one to get this and say it in public. This is obviously correct--but Disney is pushing the other direction, so I wouldn't bet on anything.
