No matter how incompetent and cowardly you imagine the cops were at Uvalde, tonight's Frontline goes minute by minute to illustrate they were so much worse.
Drawing on real-time, firsthand accounts and using official bodycam and audio, FRONTLINE, ProPublica and The Texas Tribune reconstruct the chaotic response to the Uvalde school shooting and examine
I’m not sure I can stomach it.
Thanks for sharing this 🙌
Thanks for reminding me to watch this
I read the Pro Publica report today. It’s brutal.
The chief didn’t bring his radios because he knew they didn’t work in the school and spent an hour blundering around trying to locate a key. The goddamn chief of the school cop force had not the vaguest plan for handling an incident *at the school*. He really was the fall guy, but he did fuck up
It’s confounding that this small-town school has its own police force, but its chief was utterly unfamiliar with the building’s layout and didn’t know if school was even in session. What is the point of having school cops (rhetorical q)?
This is rough to watch.
They never checked to see if the door was actually locked?
OK, I was very skeptical when you said it was worse than we thought. But the copy saying, there are kids everywhere. No shit, dude you are in a school that is in session.
Watching it now. How do these dumb ass cops not know the kids are trained to be quiet???
