There's so much going on in this report about the Gaza pier, but this part is particularly interesting. The UN's World Food Program wanted the pier to at least be built in the north where the people were starving the most. The IDF and USAID overruled that plan.

I think it was clear from the beginning that the pier was just a publicity stunt.

I’ll never be convinced that it was anything but part of the logistics for the hostage rescue dresses up as “humanitarian aid”. The minute that mission was done the pier was gone.
