I don't burn out because I don't believe that I should sacrifice my health and wellbeing to paper over cracks that need a proper fix. Failure is not just a good teacher, but sometimes the only one that management learns from.

It's resourcing. Redacting docs and preparing responses is fiddly work and a backroom admin function. Departments are scrambling to meet their statutory obligations with fewer people. And it's going to get worse as the people who still have jobs burn out.

It's been an exercise in seeing who in Wellington hospo thinks they have a right to the cash of the civil servants they hold in such contempt.

It's just rhetoric intended to make sure that when this business fails the govt can say they did everything they could (which was nothing) and it's not their cost cutting which has gutted the city.

The best bit, the tastiest treat, here, is that it isn't going to make a difference, because it's not actually happening. The announcement is not a law change or an order. It doesn't change anyone's contract, it doesn't rent back the space given up to save money.
