French is only viewed positively due being anti trump. He wrote a piece just before the 2020 election saying “don’t vote trump but it’s ok to vote down ballot GOP” prior to those guys turning into the insurrection party. He decried Christian nationalism but loves the destruction of Roe. Not a fan
