Morpeth (sub-Area 6) gave its name to a constituency from 1885 until 1983, when it helped form the re-created seat of Wansbeck, except for the more rural northern parts of the constituency which went to Berwick-upon-Tweed. Since 2024 it has been part of North Northumberland.
