rambling a bit here but at core people are conflating the potential of future reach via an existing network with actual reach as it occurs. twitter is not getting you that for a variety of reasons, including that musk decides what plays, people are leaving and not deactivating, and it's a nazi bar

and i get it! it's unnerving to leave something you built behind. it used to produce more, maybe it could again. and i wouldn't accuse any specific stranger of this but obviously big numbers simply feel good. but reach for progressive causes/ideas just... isn't what's happening on twitter anymore
