Great study! Thx for sharing. Hoping this will be presented at the upcoming PHI conference and perhaps at an ASHRAE or ACEEE one?

Shocked me too… Was looking for your paper on the PH heat load target. (Didn’t you present something on it at a PHI conference?) If so, will you email that to me please?

Wasted an enjoyable hour (or two) rereading your old blog posts. (Ten years goes by quickly…!) Sadly we’re still debating so many ‘variable f*ckables’ around n0t zero although it does look like the LEED folks have finally admitted defeat: www.buildinggreen.com/news-analysi...

I can top that one with this ‘car shrine’ I walked past near Boulder, CO, last week. (I called it “an elegantly designed monument to the car with a shack out back for its slaves” in a comment on the article @lloydalter.bsky.social wrote on this monster.)

Massive four car garage building with small shed for humans in the side.

This was certainly the most cost optimized house design on the PHN conference tour. (With the least amount of structural steel.) Kudos to your design team for keeping it simple! (And perhaps the other home designers can learn from this to design with less steel??!)
