I'm not from Oakland but maybe see if they have a fancy yarn store just to get an idea of what stuff freaks like. Cause you can just touch stuff. You can also ask them if they know people locally who do commissions. You aren't limited to local just it's an idea. Baby alpaca is one of my favorites
