RANT: I'm honestly so fearful to put my time into studying art at this point. AI art alone has sparked so much distrust in the community as far as commissioning goes. I've had 3 friends recently get banned from FA unjustly because their style was on the generic side. It needs to stop.

For some of these artists art and commissions are their main source of income, their lifeline. Getting that cut off on baseless accusations can be world breaking for them... it's just so disappointing.

Understandable, it's all gotten quite bad. Didn't know there were bans on FA over such false allegations, sheesh. It was a while back, but I recall a thread where people were baselessly accusing a well established artist of it, and using work from before genAI took off as examples. Like, wut?

I get that feeling. I've considered giving up on art because of the AI issues. It's disheartening to hear that people have been banned on false accusations about AI too.

I say study art anyways. The more people that make real art the more we can drown out the AI bullshit. It’s self-expression, if nothing else. I don’t draw often anymore, but I like that I still CAN when I want.
