Our department has a "pre-health chemistry" major (in addition to standard chemistry/biochemistry and ACS chemistry majors). Would chem grad admissions look unfavorably on "pre-health chemistry" vs. "chemistry" major on a student's transcript?
The chemistry fits better into organic II, but I really like showing this route to the cationic lipids used in mRNA vaccines. lutzpolymerlab.weebly.com/resources/pr...
Provide the missing reagents below in the synthesis of an ionizable lipid used in the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine.

We'd love for other instructors to make use of this experiment in their courses, so please reach out if you have any questions about it! Big thanks to Paul Morgan and @amwilsonin.bsky.social at Butler University for working with me on this project.
Here is a video (sped up by 33x) showing one of the purifications in action. youtube.com/shorts/6gFi1...
Excited to share my first preprint as corresponding author! We developed new experiments for second-year or advanced organic chemistry lab courses to teach column chromatography in a highly visual manner. chemrxiv.org/engage/chemr...

My ride is here.
Pretty sure it was Sweeney Todd and I was paranoid my parents were going to find out and be angry.
